Kerry is a performer and educator in Seattle, WA
Kerry received her Bachelor of Music in Viola Performance from the University of Puget Sound, where she studied under Joyce Ramée, and she did graduate studies in Music Education at Seattle Pacific University. Kerry has undergone Suzuki Teacher Training courses and is a registered instructor with both the Suzuki Association of the Americas (SAA) and the Suzuki Association of Washington State (SAWS).
Kerry is on the faculty at Music Center of the Northwest as a violin and viola instructor, where she maintains a studio of students of all ages and also teaches group classes. She previously taught viola and violin through the University of Puget Sound Community Music program. Inspired by and the product of music in the public schools, Kerry heavily advocates for continued support of public, low cost educational music programs. She visits local low income elementary and middle schools and provides additional support to the music teachers with their orchestra programs. Born and raised in the Puget Sound region, Kerry has performed with a number of groups in the area, such as Village Theater, Sammamish Symphony, Olympia Symphony, and currently performs with the Seattle Philharmonic. She is a recurrent performer with the Salt Water Music Series, the Northwest Grieg Society, and is a frequent performer of new compositions, specifically from composers in the Pacific Northwest. |
